Benefits of Bone Broth
Bone broth is an amazingly nutritional food that has been made for centuries. You can use it in place of stock in your cooking or, drink a warm cup of it and you will feel amazing! It is simmered for hours to extract nutrients and minerals as well as Gelatin and Glycine.

How to make Bone Broth
•All bones from a chicken, beef, lamb, pork
•Two celery sticks sliced into three large pieces
•One carrot sliced into three large pieces
•One onion chopped into quarters
•Two teaspoons of minced garlic or two gloves of fresh garlic
•Water to cover the broth
•2 table spoons of apple cider vinegar
•Mixed herbs (whatever you have around in the way of parsley, rosemary, thyme etc.)
**To be honest u started with the above ingredients but, now I’ll use whatever vegetables in have that are on their way out and it works fantastic. We use whole garlic clove and onion because we are low FODMAP and this is fine too. I tend to add a little turmeric powder too along with salt and pepper.
Cook yourself a yummy roast with any meat you prefer (i.e chicken, beef, lamb, pork) and keep ALL of the bones (for a chicken you should use the carcass and insides too) and any small amounts of meat, insides etc that remain and put these into your slow cooker pot. We try to use free-range, grass-fed, organic meat where possible. You can also alternatively buy bones from the butcher usually at a cheap price. Flatten the bones down a little. Put the apple cider vinegar over the top and let it all sit for 30 mins to an hour so that the vinegar can help to draw all of the goodies out of the bones. We use Macro organic apple cider vinegar (this has its own amazing health benefits which just adds to the goodness of the broth).
Once the hour is up pour the water over the top of the bones until it is all just covered. Then, put in all of your other ingredients in as well and give it a little mix. If I have any roast veggie scraps left over from my dinner I put those in too. We try to use organic vegetables where possible. Then switch your slow cooker to low and leave it for 12 hours or more. I have read the longer the better but I tend to take my out after about maximum of 24 hours. I have also done the opposite because I needed it and done it on high for 6 hours and it’s worked great still.
When you are ready to stop the broth cooking, strain the liquid out and this is your broth! I then use it in my soups, risottos, curries etc or drink a cup full of goodness which works wonders if you have a cold.
Broth is a great way to make use of every part of the meat you usually buy and eat anyway to save money and increase health benefits.
